non-Inclusive performance fee
$85-$100
PER FAMILY
The end of our dance season at Contemporary Dance & Fitness Studio culminates in a weekend of performances at the Barre Opera House. Dancers experience what it’s like to perform on a professional stage, complete with costumes, light design, music, and a stage manager. It’s a magical experience that dancers will remember for a lifetime. In order to support the magic, CD&FS will implement a Performance Fee for the 2024-2025 Season. The Non-Inclusive Performance Fee is an option for families whose dancers want to participate in the performance but do not want to pay the All-Inclusive Fee.

Why has the ballet costume fee increased?
Costume companies have steadily increased their prices over the years, and CD&FS' costume fees have not kept pace with that increase. Costumes that we used to purchase for $49.95, are now being priced at $64.95 - $74.95. This only reflects the price of the costume itself, and does not include any shipping fees or return/exchanges fees. It also does not include staff pay for measuring, sizing, ordering, and organizing costumes. Ballet costumes have more intricate details than other costumes and are priced at a higher price point.
Why is there a new administrative and staffing fee?
In previous years, CD&FS teachers and staff volunteered their time leading up to the show, during production week, dress rehearsals, and during performance. Asking artists to work for free is no longer the industry standard. The administrative fee goes towards paying staff for some of their time.
My dancer is in Teen Jazz or Junior Company, do I still have to pay this fee?
Yes. Your inclusive monthly tuition fee for Company covers all Company-related rehearsals, performances, and costumes. This fee covers performance fees for your students regular weekly classes.
Are tickets included in the Performance Fee?
No. This year, all ticket sales will be sold through the Barre Opera House website. Ticket sales directly pay for renting the Opera House for our production week and performances, the lighting designer, the sound tech, additional technical staff, and the house manager.
My dancer has changed their mind and will no longer be performing. Can the performance fee be refunded?
No, we can not offer refunds for performance fees. You will still receive your costume.
