WE ARE SEEKING a skilled Hip Hop and/or Breaking dance instructor for our 2026-2027 season!
We value curriculum that prioritizes the history of hip hop culture, exposes students to a variety of street/club styles, and encourages students to explore/create through both foundational vocabulary and improvisation. The instructor should foster a supportive yet challenging environment, uphold the principles of hip hop, and have thorough experience in non-commercial hip hop. Our classes follow a general structure that includes a dynamic warm up (foundations, isolations, mobility, conditioning, etc), traveling phrases, center choreography, and improvisation (vocabulary variations, cyphers, etc) - as opposed to a primary focus on center choreography.
Term: August 2026 through June 2027. Candidates who can continue for following school years are preferred. Opportunity to participate in July camps is available.
Class times: Flexible prior to schedule being announced in Spring 2026, approximately 9 hours per week.
Student ages: 6-18
Compensation: $35-$50/hour, based on experience. $15/hour for administrative duties.
