Studio Etiquette

In order to provide the best performing arts instruction possible, it is important that students and their families know what is expected while at the studio.  Please review the following etiquette guidelines for yourself and/or for your dancer before beginning classes at Contemporary Dance and Fitness Studio.
Our Studio Etiquette and Community Guidelines are based on the foundation of respect.

Students can show respect for themselves by:
  • being prepared for class with the proper clothing and shoes, with hair back and jewelry removed
  • fueling their bodies properly throughout the day so they have plenty of energy
  • bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated
  • being on time for class, which means arriving 10min before class starts
  • putting their phones away during class time and fully engaging in the activity at hand
  • having a positive attitude and trying their hardest in class

Students can show respect to their fellow dancers:
● Saving conversation for outside of class
● Waiting quietly for a turn
● Only saying kind things
● Keeping hands and feet to themselves
● Entering the studio rooms quietly
● Always walking behind dancers who are dancing (instead of between them and mirrors/teachers.

Students can show respect to their teachers by:
● Listening when the teacher speaks
● Always asking to leave the room for any reason
● Trying their hardest to finish each exercise, even when it’s something challenging or new.

Students can show respect for the space by:
● Keeping their belongings organized and neat in their dance bag
● Removing and stowing street shoes in the entryway
● Cleaning up after themselves (this includes snacks, play materials, clothing)
