Tap

Placement for our tap classes for our younger dancers is based on age as well as maturity and skill level. If you are a new student, call the studio for assistance in choosing the appropriate level. Tap Kidz

​Wednesday, 3:45pm - 4:30pm ● Ages 6-8yrs

In this exciting and upbeat class, your child will step into the world of tap dance, where music and movement come together to create rhythmic fun. Dancers learn fundamental tap steps and rhythms tailored to their age and skill level.

Junior Tap 1
​Tuesday, 5pm - 6pm 
● Ages 9/10yrs

Monthly Tuition: $60
Junior Tap 1 introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of tap dance and the joy of creating rhythms through precise foot and ankle articulation. Dancers will begin with a center warm-up focused on building coordination, balance, and sound clarity. Class will include across-the-floor progressions to develop traveling steps and simple step combinations. Students will explore basic rhythms and patterns, gradually building the skills needed to connect movements into musical phrases. Combinations will bring all elements together and help dancers strengthen their performance skills.

Junior Tap 2-3
​Tuesday, 3:45pm - 5pm 
● Ages 10/11yrs

Junior Tap 2–3 builds on foundational tap skills and deepens dancers' understanding of rhythm, sound, and musicality through more complex foot and ankle articulation. Dancers will expand their tap vocabulary while exploring a wider range of tempos and rhythms as their familiarity with the style grows. Class will begin with a center or across-the-floor warm-up, followed by progressions that focus on combining rhythms and steps with increased clarity and confidence. Traveling movements, including rotations and turns, will also be introduced to challenge spatial awareness and control. Combinations will bring all elements together, incorporating layered rhythms and varied tempos. Dancers will strengthen their performance skills as they prepare to learn choreography for the end-of-year performance.

CLASSES FOR TEENS & ADULTS

Tap 1
Monday, 7:30pm - 8:45pm

Tap 1 is for teens and adults who have never tapped before or are coming to back to tap after a long break. It introduces to the fundamentals of tap dance, it's roots, and the joy of creating rhythms through precise foot and ankle articulation. Dancers will begin with a center warm-up focused on building coordination, balance, and sound clarity. Class will include across-the-floor progressions to develop traveling steps and simple step combinations. Students will explore basic rhythms and patterns, gradually building the skills needed to connect movements into musical phrases. Combinations taught will bring all of these elements together. 

Mixed Level Tap
Tuesday, 6pm - 7:15pm

Monthly Tuition: $67
Mixed Level Tap is designed for teens and adults, welcoming dancers of all experience levels—from beginners learning the basics to those building on previous tap training. The focus is on developing rhythm and sound through ankle and foot articulation, with options provided throughout class to meet each dancer where they are. Class begins with a warm-up at the barre or in the center, followed by across-the-floor progressions that explore traveling steps and rhythmic combinations. Dancers ready for more advanced work will have opportunities to incorporate faster tempos, layered rhythms, and turns. Challenging and fun combinations will bring together all the elements of class, offering space to develop musicality, confidence, and performance skills—especially as we begin working toward our end-of-year choreography.
