Placement for our youngest ballet dancers is based on age as well as maturity and skill level. If you are a new student, call the studio for assistance in choosing the appropriate level. Pre-Primary Ballet

Our Pre-Primary Ballet class is designed for young dancers aged 3.5 to 5. This fun and engaging class introduces children to the basics of ballet in a playful and nurturing environment. Primary Ballet invites young dancers to explore creativity and musicality while building a strong foundation in ballet technique. Repetition and structure are key at this level, helping dancers develop confidence, coordination, and proper alignment through consistent practice. Each class begins with improvisation and creative movement, followed by a formal center barre warm-up and ballet-based locomotion across the floor. It then finishes with free dance and games to reinforce skills in a playful way. Dancers will continue to learn basic ballet steps and positions, while also practicing important classroom skills like listening, taking turns, and appreciating each other’s work—all in a supportive and engaging environment.

Ballet 1 is designed for young dancers who are beginning their formal ballet training. Ballet 2 builds on the fundamental techniques introduced in Ballet 1 while also welcoming new students to the world of ballet. This class begins with a thorough warm-up to prepare the body for movement, followed by barre exercises to refine basic techniques, enhance strength, and improve flexibility. Center floor exercises focus on balance, coordination, and fluid movement across the floor. In addition to technique, dancers will explore various rhythms and musical timings, learning to interpret and respond to different pieces of music. The class concludes with structured opportunities for improvisation and creative expression, encouraging dancers to develop individuality and gain confidence. Through these activities, students will strengthen their stage presence and deepen their understanding of ballet as both a technical discipline and an expressive art form.

Each class begins with a comprehensive warm-up to prepare the body, followed by barre work to learn and practice foundational ballet positions and movements. Center exercises help improve balance and coordination, while traveling steps and combinations enhance spatial awareness and movement quality. Ballet 4 is an intermediate classical ballet class for dancers ages 10 and older with prior ballet experience. Dancers will expand their ballet vocabulary, refine technique, and develop musicality, strength, alignment, artistry, and performance quality. Class includes a thorough warm-up, barre work focused on precision and progression, center exercises to challenge balance and coordination, traveling steps and combinations to build spatial awareness and dynamic movement, and gentle stretching to support flexibility and recovery. This class prepares dancers for the challenges of more advanced training.

Ballet 5 is a neo-classical ballet class for dancers ready to deepen their training and expand their technical and artistic range. This class meets twice a week. Wednesday is technique-focused, with an emphasis on ballet vocabulary, theory, barre work, alignment, precision, control, and applying those concepts in the center. Saturday focuses more on artistry, fluidity, intentionality, choreography, musical interpretation, stage presence, and performance quality. Across both classes, dancers will continue developing strength, dynamic movement, spatial awareness, and confidence in more complex combinations. Dancers must be enrolled in both Wednesday and Saturday classes.

Ballet 6 is a neo-classical ballet class for dancers with a strong ballet foundation who are ready for advanced technical and artistic work. This class meets twice a week. Wednesday is technique-focused, with an emphasis on barre, center, across-the-floor work, alignment, control, strength, and increasingly complex combinations. Saturday focuses more on artistry, fluidity, intentionality, choreography, musicality, performance quality, and deeper exploration of classical variations, guest teacher work, ballet history, and ballet’s evolving forms. Dancers must be enrolled in both Wednesday and Saturday classes.

Pointe Preparation and Maintenance

This class is required for all students interested in beginning pointe work. Pointe Prep and Maintenance focuses on building the strength, alignment, and body awareness necessary for safe and successful pointe training. Class includes targeted strengthening exercises for the feet, ankles, legs, and core, along with flexibility work and ballet technique drills that support proper placement and control. Dancers will work in flat shoes or socks as they develop the foundational skills needed to progress to pointe, and continuing students can use this class to maintain strength and prevent injury throughout their pointe training.

Pointe 1 is an introductory pointe class for dancers who have been approved to begin pointe work. This class focuses on building foundational strength, alignment, and confidence in pointe shoes. Dancers will work at the barre and in the center on basic exercises that reinforce proper technique, foot articulation, and body awareness. Emphasis is placed on safety, control, and the development of the correct muscle engagement needed for successful progression.

Mixed Pointe

Mixed-Level Pointe is designed for intermediate and advanced pointe dancers who are ready to continue building strength, control, confidence, and artistry in their pointe work. Dancers will refine technique through barre and center exercises, with attention to alignment, foot articulation, balance, musicality, and safe progression. Class may include turning sequences, traveling steps, and longer phrases that challenge dancers to apply their technique with clarity and performance quality. Modifications and progressions will be offered to support dancers at their individual level.

Open Ballet
Isadora Snapp Thursday, 5:15pm - 6:30pm Monthly Tuition: $72 |
Open Level Ballet is a neo-classical ballet class for dancers with some familiarity with ballet movement and vocabulary, from newer dancers to advanced students. This is not a total beginner class, but dancers will be offered modifications and progressions so they can work at an appropriate level. The class focuses on strong technique, musicality, artistry, and building a healthy, sustainable relationship with ballet. Dancers will move through barre, center, and across-the-floor work with an emphasis on alignment, strength, fluidity, expression, and finding joy inside the structure of ballet.
